Can You Tell Us About Your Role at GlossGenius?

I’m responsible for driving product vision, outcomes and decisions on the Profit Team which we formed specifically to help GlossGenius professionals grow their business. 

Whether we’re servicing a recent graduate-turned-solo entrepreneur or an owner of an established salon team, our team enables every provider with the tools they need to thrive as business operators every step of the way. 

What Makes GlossGenius A Unique Company?

The wonderful thing about GlossGenius and the industries we serve is that we’re all servicing each other in a way where everyone wins. 

In this line of work, when a client is super happy about how their appointments go, the business owners win. Likewise, when business owners are over-the-moon about how easy their platform makes running their business, GlossGenius wins.

I’ve realized this is not the norm especially in the payments industry. Luckily for us, this mission-aligned approach simplifies our product frameworks. We always put our users first and they motivate us to create valuable products and move with velocity. 

GlossGenius Is Customer Obsessed. What Does This Mean In Practice?

From my very first day, I learned GlossGenius keeps a very open line of communication with our customers. We empower them to write to us, give us a call or even schedule formal interviews where we walk through exactly the issues and suggestions that are top of mind. 

It empowers us to always check in with the people whose problems we are hoping to solve. Listening to customer feedback and employing those findings is truly the best way to build the highest quality product for our professionals. 

We Emphasize Moving Fast With Excellence. How Do You Accomplish This?

I believe this balance is reached by effective communication and openness to feedback. I make it a priority to give all cross-functional partners visibility into what and why we’re doing something. It’s the best feeling when we can piece together all the bits of “genius” that everyone on this team carries with them. 

Second, I adopt a growth mindset that begins with truly listening to feedback from my team. After all, excellence in building great products is a team sport. We arrive at good decisions and even better outcomes when we can all align early, often and with open minds.    

What’s Something You’re Really Excited to Work on Right Now?

My number one has to be helping customers uncover insights from their performance and guiding them to decide on business improvements faster than ever. 

Professional beauty and wellness entrepreneurs have been around since antiquity. But even the very best face challenges navigating all the exponential technology and consumer changes in the last decade. So, I take a lot of pride in knowing that GlossGenius effectively assists our pros to make sense of it all and become the best they can be. 

What's Been a Work Highlight for You Since You Joined?

Hands down it’s been our improvements to the GlossGenius Desktop experience. As a newcomer, it’s a pleasure seeing our users fall in love all over again with our product. 

The work to enhance an already great experience for our users has required us to both think outside the box as well as move quickly and effectively. It has also served as an opportunity to reconsider GlossGenius on the “big” screen which is especially relevant to our growing customers and larger teams.
