Pro tip: Use your card reader for larger transactions to better protect yourself from transaction disputes and chargebacks.
GlossGenius is the first app in the industry to bring our members contactless client payments with Tap to Pay on iPhone – so you can be the first in your industry to use your iPhone as a point of sale device! When you're checking out a client, simply have them hold their contactless card or digital wallet device over your iPhone until you see the "done" checkmark. It's that easy!
Customers securely add their card when booking online for a card-free checkout at the salon after their service. With GlossGenius, you can choose to require a card for all clients, only for new clients, or never require a card for online booking. Pro tip: Start taking deposits with your services to protect your time and money against last-minute cancellations and no-shows!
If a client has a new card they'd like to use, or their card doesn't have contactless capability (like an NFC chip), quickly and easily scan their card for maximum convenience and speed at checkout. During checkout, select "Scan or Enter New Card" then use the built-in scanner to center the card in the frame. The card details will be automatically pulled into the transaction, without having to manually type them in!
A tried-and-true option for those times where you need a little extra flexibility. Maybe a client is sending you a picture of their card, or only has the number. Perhaps their card is a little banged up and can't be scanned. When in doubt, typing in the card details is quick and easy! Pro tip: When scanning cards, those with numbers on the back will not scan. If you encounter these types of newer cards, use this CODE to purchase a card reader to make processing these a breeze. Setting up payment processing Taking payments with GlossGenius couldn't be easier – just link your bank account, verify your identity, and you're ready to go. Once your bank account information has been verified, you'll enjoy one of the lowest payment processing fees in the industry – just 2.6% – no matter what payment method your client uses!
